Google Website Search

I recently started using Google’s AdSense on MindPalette.com (hey, I’ve got to pay for development time somehow). One of the features I thought was worth mentioning is the integrated search option. Sure, you have to put up with the rather large ads block at the top of the search results page, but it’s fairly easy to integrate the search form and results page into your web site’s template.

I added a website search form to the right column of the main site, and to the right column of this blog just below the blog search, if you’d like to see what I mean. The obvious down-side of using this sort of search on your site is that new content on the site won’t show up in the search until after Google has indexed it, and that can take a little while. But otherwise, I’m happy enough with the service.
